Public Sailing Group
A group of public sailors (some are members), usually numbering up to 6 or 7 have a mainly sit down sail of all types of yachts from the eastern end of the main lake in the vicinity of Innovation House. They have no access to the Boatshed and toilets and are required to observe the Salisbury Council, Renewal SA / Innovation House parking regulations - heavy fines apply. They also need to observe the Councils various regulations relating to lake use etc as well as the parking spaces set aside for licensed boatshed users from the 3 tenant clubs.
They sail from 7am through until around 10:30am. We are advised anyone can join in, it’s a casual gathering where participants sail basic tri-angular courses or variants determined on the day using some of the fixed buoys or they just free sail. They say to bring a chair (the wall gets a bit hard after a while), a cuppa, any class of RC yacht and observe friendly behaviour as befits a public place.
