RC LASERS
The Club has an enthusiastic team of members who sail RC Lasers, a quarter size model of the Olympic class Laser dinghy. It is a strictly controlled one-design class that challenges sailors to match their sail selections with the ever changing conditions that our lake presents.
It's a never boring activity for participants and spectators, particularly when its a handicap race or a fun event when "special penalties" apply. The later being very popular at the end of a days racing.
Members sometimes sail at other venues and keep in touch via WhatsApp group, so please join our Team Laser if you're interested.
Each year a fun filled Summer & Winter RC Laser Club Series is held to help prepare sailors for State and National title events, which the Club stands ready to host. The RC Laser offers club members who usually sail ML45's or other classes, the opportunity to compete in a slightly more serious way if they wish.
While the group sails to the ISAF racing rules of sailing, we do honour the club code of being friendly first and competitive second. Events are generally held on Tuesdays, Saturdays & some Sundays, plus the scheduled Wednesdays.
Watch out for the first barbecue Saturday of each month and the Summer Twilight Sailing activity which will always see the RC Lasers on the lake.
