A group of public sailors (some are members), usually numbering around 7 or 8 have a sit-down sail of any class yacht from the site of the old Boat Deck Café on the Boulevard side of the main  lake. This group has been sailing from this site from the earliest days, now approaching 20 years.

They freestyle sail, use a basic tri-angular course or invent variants on the day using some of the permanent buoys.

These very keen sailors start at 6:30am and usually depart around 10:30am.

They say to bring a chair, a shade if necessary, cuppa if you need sustenance, any class of boat is welcome, but remember to introduce yourself. It’s not serious competitive sailing. They claim to be a friendly lot. Anyone is welcome, it’s a casual atmosphere, no sheep stations up for grabs here. Come along and say hello. They promise not to bite.

There is limited parking on the Boulevard and across the road by arrangement with the Endeavour College and Council. They have no access to the Boatshed and its toilets. Other parking options need to be discussed with the regular attendees.
