OUR LOCATION

Sailing Location

Finding us is easy.

Our home is the Community Boatshed in Paquita Park. Located on the edge of the Sir Douglas Mawson (main) Lake, we share it with the rowing and canoe polo clubs. It has basic toilets and showers (including for the disabled) as well as a common area and exclusive workshop and dedicated storage area for our use. Out the front is a great launching platform, outdoor seating and a number of shady trees.

Take the Mawson Lakes Boulevard which runs off Main North Road toward the Mawson Lakes central business district. At the roundabout turn into Park Way and then at the first street on the right into First Avenue.

Follow it to the end through the roundabout where you will see the shed & our designated car park spaces.

Parking

We have 5 allocated car parks and another 5 for the public that are generally available plus some street parking in nearby Douglas Drive.

Note that parking is allowed in the vicinity of Innovation House - Technology Park on weekends only. On weekdays we are permitted to use it for drop off and loading only but then vehicles have to be moved. Substantial fines apply.

We need to be appreciative of our host communities business parking needs so we ask participants to respect any signposted restrictions. On weekdays street parking and a very short walk may be the only option after dropping off your boat.

Limited disabled parking is available down the driveway on a first come first served basis which we manage for those in most need and that includes parking on the grassed Pacquita Park area but not the neighbouring Renewal SA block of land. Be assured we seek to have greater unhindered access to parking.

Public (Non Club) Organised Sailing Days

Wednesdays and Sunday Mornings

Wednesday morning public sailing takes place at the northern end of the lake adjacent Innovation House and on Sundays from the old boat-deck site on the Boulevard side of the lake.

There are street parking restrictions in place on the Boulevard during the working week, but for Sunday mornings, we are advised Salisbury Council has lifted the restriction to allow car parking in several limited places. We understand also that Endeavor College allow weekend parking on the old Boatdeck Cafe site but spaces are limited as organised walkers & other groups also use them.
